Answers to Organizing Questions: Part One

One question, I am often asked when speaking is, "What is the difference between having an organized home and having a clean home."

Here is my answer to this popular question: Having an organized home means that everything has it's own place to go when it is put away up off the floors and counters... having a clean home means that the counters, floor, and other surfaces have been cleaned and free of germs and grime.

I always think of this example: Imagine a driveway covered in snow, can you imagine how hard it would be to clear the drive if it were cluttered with toys, a car, old newspapers, lawn tools, and more? If all of those items have a place in your garage then when it is time to clear the driveway it will quicker and easier to do so.

Organizing and cleaning are two very different things... but linked together in their goal to give you the most comfortable home possible. If you invest the time to organize your living and working space, it will be easier to clean up messes, do daily routine cleaning, and have a healthier, happier home.
